Become Your School’s Resident Inspector
“Excellent course – really took the fear out of an inspection. Felt afterwards that I might even embrace one!” Assistant Headteacher course attendee
“An absolute must for senior leaders – particularly those in charge of Quality of Education to prepare for inspections and to align and improve QA.” Elizabeth Black, Assistant Headteacher – The Radclyffe School
Our renowned ‘Become Your School’s Resident Inspector’ training has been updated in line with all the changes to the education inspection handbooks announced for September 2022.
The one-day version of this training over the last 12 months has been very successful and so this format will continue in 2022/23. With the end of the transitional arrangements for reviewing the curriculum, the training will continue to reflect the latest guidance and information from Ofsted.
Our expert trainer has led Ofsted inspections for over 20 years and trained many inspectors. He will focus on what you need to do to prepare your team by taking participants through:
- The key differences between the types of Ofsted inspections
- The current situation and what inspectors focus on
- The changes to inspections of good and outstanding schools
- How Ofsted inspectors use the school inspection handbook
- What Ofsted will look at before they visit and how to prepare
- Managing the pre-inspection phone calls
- Clarifying the whole inspection process from phone call to report
The training is aimed at both primary and secondary senior and middle leaders so that they gain a thorough understanding of the inspection processes and what they need to know before and during an inspection.
Our recent training in Manchester in February 2022 received an overall rating of 4.8 / 5 stars.
“A well-constructed training day packed full of little gems. The day reinforced significant key messages and was a great consolidation of “must knows” regarding inspection and school improvement.” Rorick Houghton, Deputy Head – Hyde High School
